Both ends are open so you can just slide the cover onto the girth strap. That makes the girth strap cover very convenient for removing so it can be washed. Made from a manmade non piling material so it can be washed and dried. This is a great feature since the girth strap attaches on the strap that runs under the dog’s chest where the dog gets the most amount of soiling.
