When you purchase a new GTU 10, it comes with 1 year of Standard Tracking (coverage dependent on GSM wireless service within the U.S.), so you’ll be ready to go once you register and activate it in your Garmin account.
Then, you can view the location of your pet on a map from the friendly confines of your computer. For an added level of convenience, you can download the free Garmin Tracker™ app for your mobile device. This allows you to compare your current location to the direction and location of your pet.
Using your computer or mobile device, you can also:
Create up to 10 geofences (virtual boundaries) for your device. When your pet enters or exits a geofence, Garmin can send you an email or text message notification.
View track history of where your pet has been.
Customize device settings for optimal performance, including low battery/powered off notifications to let you know when it’s time to recharge or when the device has been turned off.

With Standard Tracking and your GTU™ 10, you’ll be able to locate your pet whenever you need to using your computer or mobile device.
With just 1 click, we’ll show you the location of your pet in an easy-to-read map view.
You’ll also be able to access the last 10 points of daily track history. With Standard Tracking, your track history is recorded anytime you request location, a geofence boundary is crossed (if geofences are being applied) or low battery/powered off is detected.
1 year of Standard Tracking is included with the purchase of a GTU10 at no additional cost ($49.99 per year thereafter - billed through Garmin account).
Standard Tracking is an annual service plan, with the option to automatically renew when it expires to ensure uninterrupted service.
